lyrics

Too many sleepless nights
we lie awake,
as tears fill my eyes
in memory of those who have died.
It's not a secret how much they're truly missed.
Every night we search our dreams
for the precious moments we spent with them.

Where are all the happy dreams of her smile?
Where are all the cherished moments spent with her?
All I ever see is the nightmare of that hospital bed,
watching her last breath,
as her life begins to slip away.

Please don't leave me alone with myself.
I'm failing to see the reason for you taking her.
I wish I spent more time when I had the chance.
Her death is why I doubt.

The feeling of emptiness never really goes away.
I lay awake at night wondering if all will ever be okay.
Thoughts turn into filling the void, the void turns into pain,
and then the pain turns into anger.
The cycle repeats until one day, you're fed up.
You're done with the way things are going
and how you think things are going to be.
Something has to change, you just don't know
the how, the when, or the way.

Just because you're gone,
doesn't mean you are gone from me.
When I hated myself, you were the only one
that made me believe.
When I saw nothing in myself, you were the only one
that saw something in me.
And now I know that when you look down,
I know you're proud of me.
You're saying, "That's my son,
who I am well pleased, and nothing can stop him
because the one with him now, is the one
with me."
Forever.
